Civil Litigation is a broad term that describes a court based legal dispute under the common law system, which is not related to criminal liability. Civil litigation could well be defined as a legal dispute between two or more parties that seek money damages or specific performance rather than criminal sanctions. A lawyer who specializes in civil litigation is known as a “litigator” or “trial lawyer”.
